1. Operator and service
These terms are provided by News Targeted ("we", "us"). NT Social Media Downloader lets you paste public links from TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, YouTube, and SoundCloud to resolve downloadable media.
We provide:
- A website at sd.newstargeted.com with a web downloader, documentation, shortcuts, and optional advanced capture tools.
- A documented HTTP API at api.newstargeted.com for resolve, platform metadata, bookmarks, and direct download links.
We do not host or permanently store the media you download. Files are fetched from third-party platforms or their CDNs and streamed through signed download links on our proxy.
2. No affiliation
This service is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by TikTok, ByteDance, Meta, Instagram, Facebook, X Corp, Google, YouTube, SoundCloud, or any other social platform named on this site. Platform names and trademarks belong to their respective owners.
3. Acceptable use
You agree to use the service only for lawful purposes and only for content you have the right to access and save. You must not:
- Download or redistribute copyrighted material without permission from the rights holder.
- Use automated tools to abuse rate limits, scrape the site, or overload our infrastructure.
- Attempt to bypass security, access admin areas without authorization, or interfere with other users.
- Use the service to distribute malware, spam, or illegal content.
- Misrepresent your identity or submit false copyright or abuse reports.
We may suspend or block access when we detect abuse, including excessive API use or repeated invalid requests.
4. Copyright and takedowns
We respond to valid copyright complaints. If you believe content accessible through our resolver infringes your rights, contact us at [email protected] with the post URL, proof of ownership, and your contact details. We may disable resolution for specific URLs while a complaint is reviewed.
5. YouTube downloads
YouTube links are resolved on our servers when possible. YouTube may block automated access from some server locations. When that happens, the website can offer browser capture: a popup opens the public video on youtube.com, reads player data from your browser, and sends it back to this site to build download links.
- No YouTube login required for typical public videos. You do not need to paste cookies or sign in to YouTube to use the public downloader.
- Quality may vary: server-side resolution may offer higher quality when it succeeds. Browser capture often provides a lower direct stream (for example 360p) when higher qualities are not exposed as plain URLs in the player data.
- Advanced fallback: you may paste watch page HTML or use the YouTube bookmarklet on the Advanced panel if automatic capture does not finish.
- Your responsibility: download only videos you may legally access and save. YouTube's Terms of Service apply to your use of YouTube.
Authorized site admins may optionally configure server-side YouTube cookies for maintenance. That is an operator tool, not a requirement for visitors.
SoundCloud downloads
Public SoundCloud tracks are resolved on our servers and saved as MP3. Paste one track link. Playlist and set links are not supported.
- Your responsibility: download only tracks you may legally access and save. SoundCloud's Terms of Service apply to your use of SoundCloud.
- No SoundCloud login is required for typical public tracks.
5. Instagram downloads
Instagram posts, reels, photo carousels, and mixed photo/video carousels are resolved on our servers when possible. You do not need an Instagram account or browser login for typical public posts when the service is configured with an operator session.
- Carousels: multi-slide posts may include both photos and video slides. The website preview and API return slides in Instagram order.
- Advanced fallback: if server resolution fails (private, restricted, or changed platform rules), paste page HTML on the Advanced panel or submit optional
sourcein a follow-up API resolve request. - Your responsibility: download only content you may legally access and save. Meta's terms apply to your use of Instagram.
Authorized site admins may configure server-side Instagram cookies for maintenance. That is an operator tool, not a requirement for visitors.
6. API and download links
- Resolve:
GETorPOST /social-downloads/v1/resolvecan be called anytime with a public post URL. It returns fresh metadata and download options. The resolve URL does not expire. - Permanent download:
GET /social-downloads/v1/download?url=...&quality=hdre-resolves the post and starts a download. Safe to bookmark and share. Usephoto=Nfor carousel photo index or choose fromdownloads.carousel_slidesin resolve JSON. - Tokenized proxy links: long URLs such as
sd.newstargeted.com/download?token=...in JSON responses expire after about 1 day for security. Call resolve again or use the permanent download endpoint for a fresh link. - Short download ids: resolve JSON includes
download_idsand path links such as/download/d/{id}. iOS Shortcuts should POST JSON{"id":"..."}to/downloadinstead of opening truncated token URLs. - Structured errors: failed resolve or download responses include
error_code, plusrequestanddetailsfor debugging. See the full list in documentation: API error codes. - Rate limits: We apply limits to protect the service. Authorized admin accounts signed in with Discord may receive higher limits.
- YouTube fallback: if a YouTube URL cannot be resolved on the server, API responses may include
needs_youtube_browser: true. Clients should direct users to browser capture or submit optionalsource(page HTML or player JSON) on a follow-up resolve request. - Instagram fallback: if an Instagram post cannot be resolved on the server, try Advanced page source or optional
sourceon a follow-up resolve request. API responses may includeinstagram_server_session: falseandneeds_instagram_admin_setup: truewhen operator cookies are not configured. Visitors are not asked to log in to Instagram in the browser for normal public posts.
7. Advertising and Google AdSense
Public pages on sd.newstargeted.com may display advertisements through Google AdSense. Ads help support this free service. By using the website, you acknowledge that:
- Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to deliver and measure ads.
- Ads may be personalized based on your activity on this and other sites, subject to Google's policies.
- Google may collect and process data according to the Google Privacy Policy.
- You can manage or opt out of personalized ads via Google Ad Settings.
See our Privacy Policy for more detail on advertising data.
8. Third-party services
Resolving posts may rely on third-party APIs, open-source tools (such as yt-dlp), platform CDNs (including googlevideo.com for YouTube and fbcdn.net for Meta platforms), and proof-of-origin token helpers used only on our servers. We also use infrastructure partners such as Cloudflare and Discord (optional user login; allowlisted Discord IDs may receive admin features). Their availability, terms, and URLs can change without notice. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their outages or policy changes.
9. Privacy
Your use of this service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we process and your choices.
10. Disclaimer
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We aim for reliable operation but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, specific download quality, watermark removal, or that every public post will resolve successfully. YouTube, Instagram, and other platforms may change access rules, block server or browser requests, or limit available formats at any time.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, News Targeted is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of this service, including loss of data, content, revenue, or business opportunity.
12. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms. Material changes may also be noted on the site or documentation.
